Delta Railroad Services Announces Summer 2026 Field Engineer Internship Program to Cultivate Next Generation of Rail Professionals

Delta Railroad Services, a leading North American provider of railroad construction and maintenance, equipment rental, and manufactured and remanufactured maintenance-of-way (MOW) equipment, today announced the launch of its Field Engineering Internship Program.
The role provides hands-on experience supporting active construction projects while offering a clear growth path toward a future Project Management position. The individual will work closely with the Project Manager and Engineering Team to assist with project planning, field execution, inspections, documentation, and coordination with internal teams and external partners.
Program Details and Focus
The Field Engineer Internship Program offers candidates a unique opportunity to contribute to real-world projects within a vital industry.
Project Design & Documentation: Support the Project Manager and engineering teams by creating, inspecting, and managing technical drawings, progress reports, and essential project documentation.
Field Supervision & Compliance: Direct on-site crews and conduct daily inspections to ensure all construction activities meet safety codes, industry standards, and contract specifications.
Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between contractors, vendors, and customers to facilitate seamless workflow and effective internal quality control.
Operational Problem Solving: Oversee on-site equipment maintenance and resolve technical field issues quickly through data-driven analysis and decisive action.
Selected interns will work alongside key team members of Delta Railroad Services, gaining practical experience and best practices in railroad construction, maintenance, and the development of MOW equipment. This program is an investment in developing the skills and knowledge required to support the future of the North American railway system.
